One of the very first questions I asked whenever I joined the Digital Marketing/Web team at Dell Technologies was:

Me: “So, where’s your style guide?”

Them: “We don’t have one.”

Me: *Face palm*

I knew that very moment that not only did I need to express why the site was in dire need of a style guide to promote and enhance content consistency, but that this would be on the top of my to-do list, passionately leading and owning this project. I spent the remainder of the year researching, collecting and partnering with the Brand team and a visual designer to put together the first-ever, Dell Technologies site style guide. To-date, the guide covers guidance and requirements around, Call-to-Actions (CTAs), Capitalization, Company and Industry Terms, Grammar, Punctuation and Dell Technologies Brand Voice and Tone. This is only the beginning though; I have SEO best practices, writing for global regions/translations and more pressing, crucial topics in-progress to add soon. Lastly, I’ve developed an adjacent, interactive and on-demand training program to bring the business up-to-speed with requirements and site content best practices.
